Warren’s ‘Billionaire Tears’ Campaign Mug Reportedly Being Sold By Billionaire’s Company

Democratic presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren has used her 2020 platform to essentially wage war on the billionaires around the country.

The top 1 percent should pay more, she contends, as she says she will raise taxes on them to afford her “free” programs (Her Medicare for All plan, for example, is estimated to cost north of $52,000,000,000,000).

To push her anti-billionaire campaign, Warren began to sell a $25 coffee mug with the words “billionaire tears” on it.

“Savor a warm, slightly salty beverage of your choice in this union-made mug as you contemplate all the good a wealth tax could do: universal healthcare, student debt cancellation, universal free college, and more,” the product description reads.

But, as the Daily Caller reports, Warren’s mug is actually being sold by “Shopify, a Canadian e-commerce company whose founder and CEO, Tobias Lütke, is worth an estimated $2.8 billion.”

So, a billionaire is profiting off of Warren’s anti-billionaire push.

The Daily Caller adds:

Warren’s presidential campaign began utilizing Shopify’s services shortly after the Massachusetts senator declared her candidacy in February. Her campaign has disbursed nearly $105,000 to Shopify for credit card processing fees so far in 2019, according to Federal Election Commission (FEC) records.

Warren’s senatorial campaign also utilized Shopify’s services, disbursing $16,500 to the company between 2017 and 2019, FEC records show.

Warren’s proposed annual 2% wealth tax on net worth over $50 million and an annual 6% wealth tax on net worth over $1 billion has become a focal point of her campaign. She says the increased tax revenues from the proposal can fund her “Medicare for all” plan without raising taxes on the middle class.

If that weren’t enough, the Western Journal reports Warren has recently faced pushback from billionaire Mark Cuban who rightly points out that Warren is in the very top 1 percent she claims is crippling society.

“The reality for @ewarren is that this is as much to divert attention from her income and net worth as anything else. Other than steyer she is the wealthiest of all the Dem Candidates. By far,” he said in a tweet earlier this month.

“According to her filings, she made 900k last year which means her family earns more than 2x the amount needed to be a 1 percenter. She paid 25.5% of that in taxes which is less than the % I paid in taxes (29.85%)” the owner of the Dallas Mavericks continued.

“Forbes says her networth is north of $12m . That’s being rich. Filthy rich. I’m sure it’s richer than she ever imagined she would be. Good for her. She earned it. It puts her millions above the threshold for being part of the richest 1 percent by networth in our country,” he said in another tweet.
