Biden Calls Trump A ‘Bully’ In New Interview, The President Responds With Facts

The first Democratic debates showed that Joe Biden has a clear hold over his fellow candidates as they compete for their party’s nomination to take on President Trump in 2020.

Biden’s status, so far in front of every other candidate not named Bernie Sanders, has him eyeing the eventual match up with the president, something he specifically addressed in a  CNN interview on Friday.

The former vice president was asked about President Trump and how the two would interact during a prospective presidential debate.

“Nothing about him worries you?” host Chris Cuomo asked Biden.

“Sure it worries me, in the sense that I am looking forward to this,” Biden answered. “You walk behind me in a debate, come here, man. You know me too well. The idea I’d be intimidated by Donald Trump? He’s the bully that I knew my whole life. He’s the bully that I’ve always stood up to. He’s the bully that used to make fun when I stuttered and I smacked him in the mouth.”

“I think the American people want a president who has some dignity, who has a value set [and] who is actually trying to restore the soul of this country,” the presidential candidate continued.

Watch:

President Trump was asked about the remark by a group of reporters outside of the White House.

“Joe Biden called you a bully, what do you think of that?” a reporter asked the president.

“I don’t think I’m a bully at all,” Trump responded, via ABC News. “I just don’t like being taken advantage of by other countries, by pharmaceutical companies, by all of the people that have taken advantage of this country.”

The president also took to Twitter on Saturday morning and reemphasized that he does not think highly of Biden, calling him a “reclamation project.”

“Joe Biden is a reclamation project. Some things are just not salvageable,” Trump said, echoing sentiments he has previously made about the Obama administration and their handling of international relationships, trade deals, and the economy. “China and other countries that ripped us off for years are begging for him. He deserted our military, our law enforcement, and our healthcare. Added more debt than all other Presidents combined.”

Biden “won’t win!” Trump added.
