On Thursday, President Trump fumed at the Democrat Party and those Democrats in Congress who are continuing to investigate him at every turn.
In a series of tweets, Trump referred to the Democrat Party as the “Do Nothing” Party and said they “are getting nothing done in Congress.” Instead of prioritizing legislative policies and helping the country, he said Democrats are wasting their time investigating him.
“The Democrats are getting nothing done in Congress. All of their efforts is about a Re-Do of the Mueller Report, which didn’t turn out the way they wanted. It is not possible for them to investigate and legislate at the same time. Their heart is not into Infrastructure, lower drug prices, pre-existing conditions and our great Vets.”
“All they are geared up to do, six committees, is squander time, day after day, trying to find anything which will be bad for me. A pure fishing expedition like this never happened before, & it should never happen again!”
Despite talking down impeachment efforts, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has yet to reel in her party from conducting seemingly countless investigations.
As Trump continues to defend his own name, claiming no collusion and no obstruction (the outcome of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s final report), Pelosi has dialed up her own rhetoric and claims Trump is partaking in some sort of “cover-up.”
BizPac Review reports Pelosi said: “Congress’s constitutional authority and responsibility to conduct oversight of the executive branch have been reaffirmed — again and again. Sadly, the President continues to defy Congress’s authority, and engage in an unprecedented cover-up campaign of the facts.”
“Congress has a clear, urgent duty to uncover the truth for the American people on the issues that matter in their lives: from corruption to the Administration’s sabotage of families’ health care to its cruel family separation policy to its welcoming of foreign interference in our elections,” she continued.
“This is about patriotism, not politics. The President must honor the Constitution and the rule of law, and provide the information we need to find the truth for the American people. We will continue to follow the facts, wherever they take us,” she concluded via the report.
During another private meeting with the Democrat caucus, Pelosi reportedly said: “We do believe that it’s important to follow the facts. We believe that no one is above the law, including the President of the United States. We believe the President of the United States is engaged in a cover-up. In a cover-up.”
Pelosi and other Democrats that contrive these investigations fail to mention that Trump was not charged by Special Counsel Mueller after a nearly two-year investigation.
BizPac Review adds:
The topic of the [private] meeting had been impeachment. Congressional Democrats remain convinced that the president either colluded with Russian operatives to affect the outcome of the 2016 presidential election and/or obstructed justice to prevent special counsel Robert Mueller from uncovering the facts. Except that the actual facts have already shown neither of these things happened.
Released last month, Mueller’s report spelled out in explicit detail that “the evidence does not establish that the President was involved in an underlying crime related to Russian election interference.”
And given that he’d committed no crime and therefore had nothing to hide — plus the fact that he’d complied with every single one of the special counsel’s requests — he, therefore, didn’t obstruct justice either, according to a post-Mueller-report ruling by the Justice Department.
