Looks Like Mueller Team Has Been ‘Illegally Leaking’ Info to the Media (Trump)

After nearly two years of investigators looking into President Trump’s actions, his businesses, his taxes, his family, his campaign associates—nearly every avenue of his life—Attorney General William Barr claimed the president was clear of any alleged wrongdoing: no collusion and no obstruction.

Despite the attorney general agreeing to release Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s final report with some expected redaction, some of those same investigators are reportedly looking to jump out ahead of the attorney general.

Whether they did not appreciate the exoneration or are looking to change the narrative, they are reportedly looking to leak information from their investigations to members of the media.

One example is from the Washington Post who, last week, published a report which cites “members of special counsel Robert S. Mueller III’s team” who “are frustrated” with Barr.

The report adds:

Barr told lawmakers that he concluded the evidence was not sufficient to prove that the president obstructed justice.

But members of Mueller’s team have complained to close associates that the evidence they gathered on obstruction was alarming and significant.

“It was much more acute than Barr suggested,” said one person, who, like others, spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the subject’s sensitivity.

Trump’s furious, the Washington Examiner reports.

Check it out:

President Trump tore into special counsel Robert Mueller’s team on Sunday, accusing the “angry Democrats” of “illegally leaking” information to the media.

Weeks after the Russia investigation came to a close, and amid a fight in Congress over the release of Mueller’s roughly 400-page report, Trump reignited his war of words with the team behind what he has for years called a “witch hunt.”

Trump took to Twitter and said: “Looks like Bob Mueller’s team of 13 Trump Haters & Angry Democrats are illegally leaking information to the press while the Fake News Media make up their own stories with or without sources – sources no longer matter to our corrupt & dishonest Mainstream Media, they are a Joke!”

Here’s more from the Washington Examiner:

After the release of his summary, Barr said he expected a redacted version of Mueller’s report to be released in mid-April, “if not sooner.” The attorney general also volunteered to testify publicly after Mueller’s report is released to the public and said he is available to appear before the Senate Judiciary Committee on May 1 and the House Judiciary Committee on May 2.

But that hasn’t been good enough for Democrats who are frustrated with Barr’s four-page summary of Mueller’s report that Trump and his allies claim provided him exoneration.

The House Judiciary Committee voted Wednesday to subpoena Mueller’s full report, along with the underlying documents, and calls have been mounting among top congressional and political leaders to get the report out to the public quickly.
