Sons of Anarchy and Hellboy star Ron Perlman did not win over any new fans when he took to Twitter and launched a completely unprovoked swipe on President Trump’s 12-year-old son, Barron (as if any provocation ought to trigger the 68-year-old actor to swipe the 12-year-old).
The interaction started when President Trump swiped Democrat frontrunner Joe Biden for mistakenly saying he was running for the presidency.
“Joe Biden got tongue tied over the weekend when he was unable to properly deliver a very simple line about his decision to run for President,” Trump tweeted. “Get used to it, another low I.Q. individual!”
Matt Oswalt, a writer and comedian, responded with a quip about Barron: “quick, what’s Barron’s middle name?”
Perlman joined in on the line by answering, “Debbie?”
Twitchy reports one user responded, “he’s just a kid.” Some other people on Twitter collectively slammed the actor for the remark:
Politico has more on Biden’s Saturday slip-up:
Biden on Saturday accidentally said he was running for president, signaling the former vice president will likely announce his bid soon. He has been toying with a presidential run, and has been leading in a number of polls despite not officially announcing.
While giving a keynote at the First State Democratic Dinner in Dover, Delaware, Biden said he gets criticized, including by those on “the new left.”
“I have the most progressive record of anybody running for the — anybody who would run,” Biden said.
“I didn’t mean,” he continued before laughing off the remark and making a cross gesture across his body with his hand.
“Of anybody who would run,” the former vice president said, correcting himself.
